The Google Nexus One : A Short Guide
Upon its release a few months ago, the Google Nexus One has generated a ton of hype amongst smartphone enthusiasts. The Nexus One operates on the Android system designed by Google, while the phone itself is manufactured by the HTC Mobile Manufacturer. Consumers who have already made the switch to the Nexus One will tell you that it is simply the best Android smartphone ever produced. In some aspects, the Nexus One’s look is not altogether different than that of the iPhone. Google’s smartphone also has no physical keyboard, resulting in a slim design, slightly thinner than the iPhone. The dimensions of the Google Nexus One are 119mm x 59.8mm x 11.5mm. It is also a rather sturdy phone, even though it weighs only 130 grams. The Google Nexus One comes with a 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen; the display resolution being a nice 480 by 800 pixels. Below the screen are four touch buttons - the home, search, back and menu buttons. Additionally, it has a trackball device, a power button and voice controls. Within just a few hours you can expect to be totally at ease with the control system that it uses. The Nexus One operates with a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor on an Android 2.1 system. All of the standard connectivity features are found on the phone. Internet browsing is accomplished with a 3G HSDPA and HSUPA and WiFi though WLAN connections. Using a microUSB and Bluetooth, the phone transfers data to other devices either cabled or wirelessly. As for applications, the Google Nexus One includes a number of software features that make it a pleasure to use. Google Voice is a particularly useful application that has been incorporated. It allows you to use your Google Voice number for sending text messages and making outbound calls. Therefore, if you are a Google Voice user then you can actually make free calls from the phone. Even without a physical keyboard, the Nexus One makes texting and data entry easier than ever. If a text field is found on the phone, it is also voice enabled. The Voice Keyboard, launched just last year, is an application that allows the user to activate the microphone button and convert their speech into text by speaking into the phone. All you have to do is talk, and your words are converted into text. Not only does it save you the time and tedium of typing on the phone, it has been rated at a 90% accuracy rate.
Is the Blue Yeti microphone good for recording music?
I just want it for vocals. No instruments or anything like that. So is it good for the price? And can you connect USB mic's into an audio interface? And will the interface really make a difference?
Thanks You.
I like blue yeti but i think AT2020 USB version is better...
